This is the perfect place for new shooters to start and an excellent place for great shooters to stay in shape.
Alibis are considered for new shooters and equipment malfunctions. Whining is not usually permitted, but give us a try anyway!
For the person who enjoys the challenge of shoulder-to-shoulder shooting LRC offers 4 position
Smallbore. The
weekly matches are conducted in our Indoor Range in McBean Park on Tuesday evenings during the months of January
through April. Each Tuesday night the shooter, using a .22 caliber rifle with a scope or iron sights, paces themself
through 4 positions shooting A-17 targets at 50 feet. Each match will cost the shooter $1.00.
The course of fire which must be completed in 55 minutes:
10 rounds in prone position
10 rounds in sitting position
10 rounds in standing position
10 rounds in kneeling position
Shooters in their teens and "well seasoned" shooters at various levels of proficiency
take part in these matches. From the Master to the beginner Marksman each comes to enjoy the company
while improving their shooting skills. The doors open at 5:00 PM for set up.
The first relay starts at 6:00 PM with a second relay starting shortly after 7:00
Smallbore Practice Nights
The range is open on most Tuesday nights. Club members may utilize the time for .22 indoor
practice on Tuesday nights when the range is not being used for match shooting.
