News from the Club’s Board of Directors

By Barbara W(Edit)

Contact any director of the Club for additional information, and I invite you to contact me.

The Lincoln Rifle Club’s Board of Directors has concentrated on establishing a smooth transition to our new constraints at the Dillman Range. As most of you are aware, our shooting hours during the week at the range were changed on August 2nd.

The Board of Directors also voted to require that a Club/NRA certified Range Safety Officer (RSO) be on-site WHENEVER shots are fired on the range. Our Club Range Master, Phil P(Edit), has been carrying this burden solo for several weeks now, but help is on the way. The Club has sponsored two NRA Certified RSO training sessions. Both sessions were well attended by very enthusiastic candidates. After attending the class, the candidates will serve an apprenticeship with Phil or his designee at the range before being fully certified by the Board of Directors as a Club RSO.

As a result of the NRA RSO training, the Board of Directors has commissioned Phil, Dennis L(Edit), and Barbara W(Edit) to author a Dillman Range SOP for the Board’s consideration and approval.

Recently, the Board approved an updated version of the Dillman Range Rules and the Range Committee Charter. New additions to the Dillman Range Rules included restrictions for metal targets and a requirement that all members display on their person their current LRC Membership card whenever they are at the range.

Remember the Board of Directors is here to represent you. If you have ideas, suggestions, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Club Headquarters at (916) 434-0308 or e-mail to lincolnrc@sbcglobal.net.
