Article not available at press time. We have new match requests practically every meeting and have developed a form to be completed for all future match requests. Contact me, or the Range Committee for your copy. Once completed and submitted these request will be used to determine the 2008 Shooting calendar. Please try to have all requests for matches submitted to the Range Committee by October 1st. If you’re surely wondering, “How can I help?”. There are many areas where we could use help. First, anyone with experience in designing ADA-compliant facilities would be great. Second, all you contractors, we’ll be putting out bids to do all this stuff. Help us out with your knowledge or by bidding a no-profit job. Third, anyone out there an electrical contractor? Upgrading the electrical is a long-term need that will become a short-term one, if we decide to put lights on the pistol side of the range. Fourth the Dillman Range firing line needs a new roof and the rain gutters replaced. Any or all of this will qualify for your work assessment for this year. We need more Range Safety Officers (RSO). The RSOs are the guys that run the range when it’s open. We have only a very few guys that have the qualifications to do this. More RSOs would allow us to give these guys a little time off, and, when we have enough, open the range to the public a couple nights during the week. See why we want lights? However, without additional RSOs, there will be no need for the lights. LRC will be looking into providing NRA-approved RSO training, but we need people willing to step up. Anyone interested in helping fill this need or having any other concerns can contact me at (( (916) (Edit) or (Edit). |

The increased level of competition in both sporter and prevision combined with a record number of juniors involved in the sport show that California is becoming a strong competitive force once again. The future holds exciting times for all of us and especially for the young generation of shooters that will continue the fight for our Nations heritage and keep the Second Amendment alive for years to come. We would like to thank the CRPA, CWA and the Lincoln Rifle Club for all of their support and encouragement of our junior programs throughout the year. First and foremost I wish to thank the Board of Directors and the membership for placing their faith in me as your Dillman Range Rangemaster. Additionally, thanks goes to Terry W(Edit) our immediate past Rangemaster for his nomination. As you may have noticed there are new berm arrangements on the pistol side of the range inclusive of an extension of the fifty yard berm. Normal one hundred yard berm maintenance was also made. Road base gravel was again spread in the parking areas and pathways. All of this maintenance could not have been accomplished without the donated use of a tractor from our member George L(Edit)e of College Oak Towing. Other repairs included replacement of the brass deflection screens on the pistol side and construction of all target frames using wood donated from our neighbors at the Sierra Pacific Mill across Highway 65 from our range entrance. Another big thanks goes out to the twenty plus LRC members who made all of this possible on June 18th and 19th and July 9th. You know who you are. |

As you may have noticed on our LRC web site all future 2nd Saturday maintenance dates have been eliminated thereby accommodating more week end shooters. Further maintenance scheduling will be announced at the general membership meetings and posted on our club web site. As a reminder to those of you that are not aware or have forgotten, the range maintenance assistance is a great method to complete your dues assessment thereby reducing your annual LRC membership fee. For those donating cardboard we next a minimum size of 21” x 42”. Thanks again, and remember firearm safety is our first priority. |
