News from the Club’s Board of Directors

By Barbara W(Edit)

At the Board of Director’s meetings in April and May, the board continued to work on the Club’s new Membership Procedures and the Responsibilities of the Club Sponsors for new candidates. The new membership process is still in its infancy and needs some fine-tuning. The Director’s are also working to establish an on-going Club training program. Immediately, the Board needs to approve a Basic Firearms Safety Program that will be available to our new candidates. But, beyond that, the Directors are committed to developing a full range of class offerings. The list of classes being considered include a full day Basic Firearms Safety Class (perfect for Families), Hunter Safety, and Rifle, Shot Gun, and Handgun Safety Classes available through the NRA. Margaret M(Edit) has been appointed as the Club’s Training Officer and it will be her responsibility to schedule classes at the Club’s facilities and coordinate with the available Instructors. If you are interested in being an instructor, or are interested in taking a particular kind of safety training, please call and talk to her at (916) (Edit). Her cell number is (916) (Edit) and her e-mail is (Edit)

The Board of Directors continues to work on the completion of the Club’s Standard Operating Procedures Manual. The duty statement for the Club’s Training Officer was adopted, and work continues on the duty statement for the Property Officer and the Audit Committee.

The next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2007 at the Raley’s Meeting Room on Highway 65. Members are invited to attend.
