Text Box: The Range Committee will generally meet at the Raley’s Meeting Room on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. All club members are invited to attend. Next meeting is (02/06/07).
     A good way to get your “Work Assessment” signed off for the year is to join a Work Party at the range. We still have projects at the Dillman Range that need to be completed and help is always welcome at these organized events. One project is the placing of Safety Signs at the 100 yard Berm and the revising of the Range Rules to include letting the Range Master know when your target is beyond the 100 yard line, so that a safety flag can be displayed while you are down range.

	The Lincoln Police Department has been in discussion with Len (Edit) to update their scheduled days at the Dillman Outdoor Range to more closely fit in with the work shifts. They have given back some dates and asked for additional dates. Their new usage schedule will be every other month and they will have the first Thursday and the Monday following that Thursday (Dawn to 2:00 PM). These dates are as follows:
		Feb 1 & 8; Apr 5 & 9; Jun 7 & 11; Aug 2 & 6;
		Oct 4 & 8 and Dec 6 & 10.
	Additionally, the Range Committee has requested of the Board of Directors that the Non-member Dillman Range Fee be raised to $10.00 a day. This will probably take affect the first of April.

Remember, follow the Safety Rules for our ranges and keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction and your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire your weapon. These simple rules would eliminate most of our accidental discharges.

News from the Club’s Board of Directors

By Barbara (edit)

	Lincoln Rifle Club held its first Board of Director’s Meeting on January 8th at the Raley’s Meeting Room on Highway 65. A copy of the minutes of this meeting is available on request. Contact any board member and they will be sure to get a copy to you. Remember, any Club member is invited to attend the Board of Directors meetings. Ordinarily they are held on the first Monday of each month at the Raley’s meeting room. Meetings are called to order at 7:00 p.m. The Board of Director’s meeting for February has been rescheduled to February 26th and will be held at the W(Edit) residence. The March meeting, and subsequent meetings, will be held on schedule.

	Business at the January meeting resulted in the adoption of a resolution setting the number of directors for the Club at seven. The directors considered nominations for the vacant positions and will include a report relative to the elections and other business scheduled for the April Annual Meeting in the March issue of the Newsletter.

	The Board of Directors also resolved to establish a position in the Club that will work directly with the Range Committee and the Board of Director’s to coordinate work projects. This position will be responsible for coordinating Club resources to accomplish projects, keeping membership advised for work assessment opportunities, and collecting and reporting work assessment to the membership coordinator. The directors continue to work on the specific job description.

	Contact any director of the Club for additional information.

	I prefer the e-mail communication, but I’m happy to take calls also.
