Per the Club’s By-Laws Junior’s can range in age from 8 to 21.  Membership is $20.00 a year.  A Range Fee of $1.00 per relay is currently collected.

We meet on Monday nights, during the school year, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Indoor Range.  Probably start again about 09/12/05.

It has been an exciting year for our Junior Division with many new shooters and the Junior Team preparations for the Camp Perry Nation competitions.  This year was also a successful one for the LRC Junior Shooters.  As Camp Perry still burns brightly in their memories, they have a lot to be proud of.  The Junior Team Members represented one of the best Rifle Clubs in the country and made the members proud during the Smallbore 3-P competitions.

The Club sent 6 shooters to the Nationals, who competed individually, as well as on 3 separate teams.  This trip would never have been possible without the generous support of the adult club.  The Junior Committee, shooters, and parents are very thankful for the continued member support of our organization.

We also had a former LRC Junior shooter, Joshua (Edit), join us to help squad one to the teams.  Here are the results of their hard work, dedication and commitment to practice over the past couple of “HOT” summer months.

Team Results:    LRC Junior members and Sutter Union High School joined forces to field a team to go for National Champion this year.  That team, aptly named SLAW UNIT, consisted of Sarah (Edit), Lee (Edit), Andrew (Edit), and Wes (Edit)(SLAW for short).  Their hard work paid off with a 1st and 2nd place ranking in their class.  LRC Juniors also formed 2 additional teams that

both took 1st place in their class.  These teams did an outstanding job in fending off the humidity as well as the tough competition to bring home the awards and represent our club at the Nationals.  Special thanks to LaVerna (Edit), Jim (Edit), Jennifer (Edit), Ken (Edit) and Joshua (Edit) for all of their assistance.  They all did a superb job chaperoning the shooters during this trip.  Joshua deserves additional recognition for showing our young competitors the ropes as well as helping bring home another 1st place honor for the Club.

The coaches and teams can now proudly look back on a year of successes, as well as forward to another shot at bringing home a Cobb, Putnam, or even a Stark Trophy Plaque next year.  The Junior Committee and coaches eagerly await the start of our new year with returning Junior shooters as well as new recruits.  We will be adding and recognition to enhance the experience for these young shooters.  The Junior Division will be sharing more information about our activities with the adult club during our upcoming 2005/2006 year.

The Junior Teams and parents would like to take a moment to recognize

Ron (Edit), the Head Coach of our Junior Program.  Ron has been with the Club for many years and his devotion to the development and coaching of our Junior Shooters is essential to the growth of shooting sports.  Ron’s dedication and time commitment made this Camp Perry trip possible.  As the teams’ performance shows, Ron prepared them very well.  To Ron we say THANK YOU and we appreciate all of your service to our past and future generation of shooters.

Coaching school will be offered in the near future for anyone interested, contact Ron Wyatt by  telephone  ( (916) 645-1777.
