Text Box: KINETIC ENERGY Page 2 Text Box: The Range Committee will generally meet at the Indoor Range/Club House on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. All club members are invited to attend. [Next meeting is 07/21/05] We have a lot on our plate at the moment. Here are the high points in no particular order. Since Dennis (Edit) has resigned as Range Master I have volunteered for the position. Bill (Edit) has been elected as Range Committee Chairman. We are discussing and researching a security video system for the Dillman Range. A member who is in the business presented to us what is available, and two more members would like to in the near future. This is intended to discourage dangerous and destructive activity when the Range is not under the eye of the Rangemaster or Range Officers. The committee is hammering out a safety orientation program for new members to complete before they are issued keys to the Dillman Range. The Executive Committee will be weighing in, and a program should be up and running soon. There is also interest in re-examining the guest privilege. The Dillman Range parking areas and walking paths still need to be graveled, and a member has kindly offered the use of his tractor and a front loader. Anyone interested in helping, PLEASE contact the Range Committee. The Club needs members who are willing to volunteer as Range Officer (s) during the public shooting hours on Saturdays and Sundays. It is time to start working on this project, so that the resources that may be needed can be considered before it is the last minute. We as a Club need to plan for such a large undertaking, or it will never happen. Good planning can make the “dream” a reality and economically feasible. Please contact me if you are interested in serving on this committee. This week I mailed a proposal to Gladding-McBean LLC to purchase a strip of land along our southeast boundary for the purpose of building an earthen berm for safety and sound issues. I will keep the membership updated as more information becomes available. Have a GREAT SUMMER, and remember that many matches are currently being held, so come out and enjoy the various events.
