Text Box: Proposed New Rules for Fixed Sight
Handgun Silhouette Match
By Grant M(Edit)

Please send

comments to Grant by 01/15/2005, if possible.

This is primarily a match for the Govt. 45 or equal. The format puts

a premium on accurate ammunition with a large element of chance.
Changes:
Only approved commercial loads and approved

hand loads are permitted. (Equivalent to .45 ACP 230 grs ball)
Course of fire is different. (60 rounds.)
All

shooting will be Offhand. (To increase the element of chance.)

	Permitted Handguns: Only fixed sight

center-fire semi-auto pistols or revolvers. Only non-adjustable, open sights may be used. Maximum barrel length of 7 2

inches. Stocks must be original factory service-style or similar replacement stock. Thumb-rest or target stocks not

permitted.

Accessories: Eye and Ear protection required. Gloves are permitted as health and safety equipment.

Spotting scopes and spotters permitted.

Course of Fire: All shooting must be off-hand (Standing). The

shooter may use two hands in any stage. Artificial support not allowed. No sighters, but there will be a preliminary

practice period. The shooter may shoot the targets in any order.

	Targets:

	50-yard or meter

chickens, 20 shots for score.

100-meter pig, 20 shots for score.

	150-yard or 150-meter (shooter’s
