Text Box: KINETIC ENERGY Page 2 Text Box: The Range Committee will generally meet at the Indoor Range/Club House on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. All club members are invited to attend. Next meeting is (12/16/04). I have enjoyed my term as Chairman of the Range Committee, sometimes thing got a little tense, but somehow it usually worked out to the benefit of the Club. I hope the new members of the Club will bring some new items forward, and continue to do things to benefit the Club. I don’t want to sound like an “Old Member”, because in the life of the Club, I have not been a member very long. But, I have seen changes over the years, most of them for the good of the Club. We have to remember that we now have over 600 members, roughly 20 members, give or take a dozen can not run the Club. It takes all of the membership to make it happen, so all of the new members that joined “to have a place to shoot” - attend the Monthly Business Meeting; vote; speak up, step up, run for office and/or join a committee! If you don’t, you won’t be happy with the way the Club turns out! I guess what I’m saying is that the same people who have been doing all the work maintaining the Club, when we had 300 members, are the same ones who continue to do it now! The City of Lincoln is growing and we need to pay attention to what is going on around us. Particularly around the Dillman Outdoor Range. It is imperative that we stay up to speed on growth patterns; new rules and ordinances; and political correctness (Noise levels, damage(?) to passer-bys or property, etc.), that might affect us as a Club. In closing I repeat—if you don’t take care of the Outdoor Range and the Club by being knowledgeable of ongoing events and playing by all the rules, we will not have a range in the near future!
