NEW DILLMAN RANGE RULES APPROVED
At the meeting on May 6th, new range rules were discussed and approved for the Dillman Outdoor Range.  There rules are effective immediately and are to be adhered to by ALL Lincoln Rifle Club and Junior Division Inc. members, guests and the public.  The new rules are posted on the website, www.lincolnrifleclub.com , and will be posted at the range itself shortly.  Please take time to read and understand these new range rules, before going to the Dillman Range to shoot.  If you are not sure what is meant by any of the rules, contact a Range Officer or other Club official for clarification.  Remember that the Range Officer (s) are in charge and that their instructions are to be followed by all individuals using the Dillman Range, at all times.

With summer coming on, the hours for shooting at the Dillman range are increasing.  Remember that the hours are from sunrise to sunset (See table elsewhere).  Also remember that if a match is scheduled, the range is closed to all other uses and users during that scheduled event.  Please remember to police after yourself and any guests when using the Dillman Range.  Please also remember that it is up to the membership to observe the actions of others at the range while your are there and to report any illegal activities to the proper authorities or a Club official.  We recently had someone shoot two Mourning Doves at the Dillman Range, with a small rim fire firearm.  The birds were left laying on the range.  Anyone violating the law will be reported to the Lincoln Police Department and/or the California Fish and Game officials for prosecution.  Such actions will also cause the member or members to be removed from membership in the Lincoln Rifle Club.  Those who did this not only violated the laws of California and the United States (doves are a migratory species), but also the Club’s rules.  If anyone knows who did this or sees anything like this done in the future, it is your responsibility to contact the proper authorities.

I would like all Match Directors to make sure you have several copies of the Lincoln Rifle Club Incident Report forms at all times.  These forms are to be completed when any incident, a confrontation, an accidental discharge, or any other such incident occurs or is discovered.  Please make sure that the report form is completed within 72 hours of the incident and someone on the Executive Committee is given the form when completed.  This will allow for documentation of such incidences and when appropriate, for action to be initiated.

Have a safe and fun summer!

Don’t be a Law Breaker—Federal Migratory Regulations, California Penal Code Sections, Fish and Game Regulations and Club Rules were all broken with the scandalous shooting of the doves on the Dillman Outdoor Range!  The last I heard—vehicle (s) and firearm (s) are now confiscated and with the Federal offense included I would expect a heavy fine and jail time to be proper punishment for those convicted of this offense!

Attached to this newsletter is a copy of the New Dillman Range Rules and the Sunrise and Sunset times for the Sacramento/Lincoln area.

Because of the upcoming warm weather, Ladies Night will be on vacation until September/October.  Additionally, a member of the club, working for RE/Max, has put forth a special offer for Club members.  See his offering elsewhere in this newsletter.

Remember to follow all safety precautions while shooting,
especially while at the Dillman Outdoor Range!!
