A Night of Food, Fun, Friends and Fantastic Prizes
By Julie (Edit)
The 27th
Annual Potluck Dinner and Awards Ceremony had a record attendance last month
of 148 people! Not only did we have
more people, we had more awards, more prizes, and more raffle tickets sold. In recognition of Outstanding Service and
Dedication to the Lincoln Rifle Club and Junior Division Jerry (Edit) and Jim
(Edit) were recipients of the Leonard Zick Award.
The
certificate for the Savage 93R17 was hidden in an ammo can selected by Frank
(Edit) during the main raffle. In the
Participation Raffle, Lane (Edit) won $500 cash and Richard (Edit) won the
Leopold scope. If you’d like to
qualify to win similar prizes next year, make sure you get your 2004 LRC
membership card dated and initialed on the back by someone in authority each
time you participate (Get it? - participate… Participation Raffle) in a club
match or event. You get one ticket per
signature. Lane had 69 signatures and
Richard had ten!
If you
didn’t know it, we have some really good cooks in the Club. There were great salads, side dishes,
breads, meats, casseroles, chilies, and oh, my, desserts galore!!!! Trust me, you won’t leave hungry. Well, you might if you arrive late, because
there weren’t many leftovers!
The
infamous shell lamp returned this year for the door prize raffle and will
surely reappear next year. For those
of you who have no idea what I am talking about, come to next years’ dinner
on January 29th, 2005 and find out!
I would
like to thank all those who helped with invitations, ordering, setup, working
during the dinner, bringing prize donations, and with cleanup. For the record, I did not bring the toilet paper as a raffle prize!!!
