The Trap is working, but the Trap House has a leakage problem, anyone with masonry experience contact me. The Dillman Firing Line Shelter will have a ‘gutter hanging’ party shortly, and wood is always needed to build more Target Stands.

The Junior’s Program has started, with an Advanced Program to be held on Tuesday Nights. Contact Ron (Edit) [((916) [edit]] or Len (Edit) [( (916) [edit]].

All the above is a way to get your Work Assessment out of the way. Please contact me at [( (916) [edit]] and see what you can do to help.

Turkeys Come

and Turkeys Go

Lincoln Rifle Club’s First Annual Turkey shoot was held at the Dillman Range on Saturday, November 8th.  We had five black powder shooters competing for the “turkey” prizes.  Silhouette targets were set up at the 50, 100, 150 and 200-meter ranges.  With five shots in 10 minutes, shooters were challenged to shoot five targets at each range.  Dennis (Edit) was our first prizewinner in the “Traditional” Class, and Chuck (Edit) was our First prizewinner in the “Modern” Class.  The two second prizes went to Jerry (Edit) and Ron (Edit).  Luckily Barbara (Edit) was on hand to receive the “Turkey Spam” as the “thanks for showing up” prize.

Scott (Edit) showed up with his ATV and trailer to assist with setting up the steel targets.  The weather was perfect with just enough wind to keep the lead balls from finding their targets.  We had fun and laughs and some pretty incredible shots.

Plan to join us next year in November, 2004, for our Second Annual Turkey Shoot.  Black Powder rifles (and pistol) just might be here to stay!  Mark your calendars.
