So, you managed to get a refund out of the IRS? Won the Lottery? etc. Are you thinking of how to spend it? Well, if you want to hunt “Out of State” (Guided or Unguided) during the Fall/Winter of 2003 you need to get busy NOW! as several state’s have a March/April deadline (Montana for one has March 15th even!) to qualify for their Big Game License drawing! And many of the Guides at the RMEF Elk Camp only had a few spots left for 2003.
What to do? Contact the State you want to hunt in by phone (or check their Web Site). Many of the State’s allow their guides to purchase/order the license and tags for their ‘hunter’ and/or guarantee the license and tags with a signed and deposit paid hunter and the proper paper work. Otherwise, for a guided hunt, check with someone like Keith Atchson’s Hunters Montana [(406) 782-2382] in Butte, MT.
