Well, we have all survived the Holidays, which I hope were as good for everyone as they were for me. As the new President, it is my hope that our membership continues to grow, as it has been doing the past several years! I would also hope that this growth leads to more help at Club work sessions and more members participating in Club activities!

The Dillman Outdoor Range is open to members with the “C” series key, during daylight hours Monday through Friday. If you would like to obtain a “C” series key, you can attend the Club’s Business Meeting to view the required “Safety Video” and sign the use agreement. The video is shown starting at 7:00 P.M.

Please remember that it is the responsibility of members to clean up after themselves and their guests at the close of each shooting session. In addition, remember that human silhouette targets are not to be used by other than identifiable law enforcement groups (In uniform). Recently shooters have been observed using such targets, as well as, cans, and other objects not allowed by club rules. If Club members see others not adhering to Club rules please ask that the member (s) not following the rules to please do so. If the offenders do not stop, please notify the Executive Board, so that appropriate action can be taken.

A recent change to the weekday use of the Dillman Range is that the Lincoln Police Department (LPD) will be utilizing the range ALL day the first Thursday of each month. The additional time was requested by the LPD, and granted by the Club, and is to help the LPD keep pace with their expanded training and certifications. During this time, the Dillman Range is CLOSED to Club members.

Our Annual Potluck Dinner and Awards Ceremony is being held February 7th, with the eating to start at 6 P.M. in the Pavilion, across the parking lot from the Indoor Range. Please make every effort to attend this enjoyable, fun night of fellowship, good food, raffles, and awards.

On March 1st, the Foothill Friends of the NRA will be holding their 11th Annul Dinner and Auction. This is also a fun night for all, with great food and an opportunity to help raise funds for Northern California Shooting activities. Tickets will be available at the February Club meeting on February 6th. The LRC has benefited has benefited from grants from monies raised at this and other dinners in the past, and has four requests for funds submitted this year.

As your new Club President, I will be looking forward to working with ALL of the membership, and hope to see many more of you at the Ranges and Club functions. Please remember that the Club’s Monthly Business Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month, unless changed by the Executive Committee to avoid holidays, etc. ALL members are invited to attend these meetings and take an active part in the operation of the Club and it’s activities.

Remember that Juniors over 18 may be allowed to participate in Adult matches, this participation is controlled by Club policy’s and regulations. Safe combinations will be changed in January on an annual basis or as needed to keep items secure. Any items removed from the vault must be signed out and then signed back in when returned. A log sheet will be available for this purpose. The first Thursday of each month at 7:00 will be set aside for the new Key Briefing Class. The Club has donated $100 to the Lincoln Lions Club for their Christmas Basket program.

The Club’s Membership could exceed 600 this year and the Annual Budget is around $30,000. Additional Fund Raisers may be necessary to keep the Club functioning as in the past. Does any member have an idea for a Fund Raiser? Is anyone interested in being the Chairman/Coordinator for such event? Is anyone interested in the Club having another Crab Feed, etc? Let the Executive Committee know of your interest.

Let the Executive Committee know if you would like your phone number and E-mail address to be included in the Newsletter. It could show up on our Website. Use the Training Request/Information Form at the end of this Newsletter to let them know.

The Annual Potluck Dinner and Awards Ceremony will be February 7th this year, see the article by Bob (Edit) and plan on attending.

Attached to this issue is the 2003 Calendars for all known shooting events. Please check it out and submit any corrections/additions to the Range Committee for approval.

The plaque to be placed at the Outdoor Range was shown at the January Business Meeting. This is thanking the Dillman Family for their donation of the Outdoor Range property.

The club has the ability to accept Visa and Master Cards for payments, in addition to cash and checks. Advertisements are accepted when requested.
