Membership
Procedures
The following information lists the activities and steps required to become a
full member of the Lincoln Rifle Club. Your sponsor will provide you with
complete details and answer any of your questions.
Your probationary period starts when you are introduced to the Club as a
candidate for membership and you pay your fees. From that point, you can
complete your probationary period in a minimum of six months or take as long as
one year. At the end of one year, you must reapply. Your fees are forfeited.
During your probationary period, you will be granted the privilege of membership
in the Club by paying no fee at the Dillman Range. You will also
qualify to participate in any activities for Club members.
You will not be a voting member until your probationary period is successfully
completed.
During the probationary period the
applicant will:
1. In as much detail as possible, complete the Applicant’s Questionnaire. The
questionnaire is located in your membership packet. Your sponsor can help you
complete the questionnaire. The questionnaire will be turned into your sponsor
along with all of your completed documents once your membership procedures are
completed and at least six months have lapsed since your initial introduction to
the Club.
2. Attend one session of the Club’s Range Rules Safety Class. This class is offered on
the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. just prior to the Club’s monthly
meeting. The classes are held at the Indoor Range in the McBean Park. Be sure to
have the Instructor “sign off” on your “yellow” Certificate of Completion” and
also have your attendance voucher signed by either the Instructor or your
sponsor.
3. Attend one session of the LRC Safety
Class. A schedule of these classes is offered on the Club’s website, or you can
contact your sponsor for the schedule. Be sure to have the instructor “sign off”
on your attendance voucher.
Class Schedule: Generally once per
month on the 2nd Saturday of each month starting at 9am until 11am
4. During public hours at the Dillman Range, spend at least three (3) separate
one-hour sessions shooting at the range with your sponsor. You may shoot the
firearm of your choice. You MUST have taken the Range Rules Safety Class prior to your
sessions at the Dillman Range. When you arrive at the Dillman Range, introduce
yourself to the Range Safety Officer and tell them why you are there. Along with
your sponsor, the Range Safety Officer will observe your safety habits. At the
end of your session(s), have your sponsor “sign off” on your attendance voucher.
5. The Club recommends that you attend at least 3 monthly Club meetings during
your probationary period. Attending these meetings will give you a greater
understanding of the Club’s mission and introduce you to opportunities to assist
the Club with project’s and functions.

Membership Cycle and Renewal
The membership cycle has changed as
of the beginning of 2006. Membership is valid for twelve months from the time of
joining. Membership renewals are based on when a member joined and dues were
paid. Club membership will lapse at the end of the month which is 12 months
after paying their dues. Renewals will be mailed out the month prior to the
expiration date. Members will have a renewal notice that pro-rates their dues,
and then get a second renewal during 2006 that will cover the next 12 months.
All members are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings and participate in
as many club activities as possible.
About 5 times a year members
will receive a copy of the club newsletter, "Kinetic Energy". The
mailing label for the newsletter now shows the expiration date for the member.
