The name of this match refers to the guns, not the shooters. This is not a match for youngsters, but juniors may compete with the supervision normally required by the Lincoln Rifle Club and Junior Division for junior shooters. This is just club members getting together to shoot the guns they carried across the handlebars when they were kids. Date: TBD - This match is not scheduled. Course of fire: 40 rounds, 10 shots at each critter, using 22 silhouettes with rams at 100 meters. Guns: 22 Long Rifle single-shot or pump-action sporting rifles, open, iron sights. Weight limit 5.5 lbs. for single shot rifles. No peep or scope sights. If you have an out-of-the-box bolt action repeater or autoloader with open sights, ask if you can use it. The spirit of the match is to use light utility guns that kids carried afield. There are even some factory peep sights that would be all right, like on the Winchester 68. We want to avoid guns like Anschutz and enhanced 10/22s. Ammunition: 22 Long Rifle standard or high velocity ammunition. No hyper-velocity such as Stingers. We strongly recommend that you test your ammunition for accuracy at 100 yards before the match. Entry fee: $1 Entries: advance entries preferred so we know how many are coming. Firing starts: The range will open at 7:30 a.m. to set targets. Practice firing before the match starts. The first relay will be called to the firing line by 9:15 a.m.
