The Lincoln Rifle Club has one of the finest Junior Programs in the State of California. Lead by a dedicated group of coaches this program is assisted in many ways by the LRC adults. LRC has brought together a group of caring adults and excellent equipment with quality facilities to make this program a huge success.

This is unquestionably the best bargain in the area for youth entertainment and growth. The range fees are $1.00 for each relay. For this small fee the young boys and girls are trained, challenged and encouraged to reach their potential. Included in this fee is use of ALL the equipment required to participate. This includes excellent shooting equipment consisting of precision Anschutz .22 caliber rifles, ammunition, spotting scopes, mats, and ear & eye protection. The fact that trained personnel, many who are highly accomplished shooters, coach the youth makes the bargain even more attractive.

To sign up just bring your youth out to one of the Monday night sessions. They can be signed up right there and join the fun.

Whether your child is interested in "just plinking" or becoming an Olympic champion they will be trained in firearm safety and handling procedures and coached on basic to advanced shooting techniques. Each shooter is allowed to progress at their own pace and encouraged to have fun in the process. The club has had more than it's share of success in grooming top shooters. The junior shooters have more than one age-group world record. Several of the shooters have received college scholarships in the last few years. The club 3-Position air rifle team won the California championship in 2001 and competed in the National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.

These Olympic sports are confined to rifles of smaller caliber - .22 rimfire rifles and .177 air rifles. Smallbore rifle shooting and air rifle shooting is extremely popular all around the world, where the tradition goes back many years. Smallbore shooting is contested at both the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. There are also World Shooting Championships every four years. The world titles attract competitors from more than 100 countries.

Free Rifle 3X40 (3 Position)
Free Rifle 3x40 Competitors fire 120 shots using a .22 caliber target rimfire rifle weighing no more than 8kg. Forty shots are fired from the prone position, 40 from a standing position and 40 from a kneeling position. This is most certainly the most challenging of all the events, and often regarded as the marathon match of smallbore shooting since it takes over 4 hours to complete. Internationally this is a men's match. These matches are shot at a variety of distances under NRA and International rules. Inside they are shot at 50 feet, outside the matches are shot at 50 yards or 50 meters depending on the type of match.

Smallbore 4 Position

Similar to the 3 position above this discipline adds a sitting position. Again a .22 caliber target rimfire rifle is used. Generally matches are run as 4X20 with 20 shots taken from each of the four positions. The 4P match is not shot in international competition.

Air Rifle

Air Rifle The air rifle match consists of a 60 shot event for men and a 40 shot event for women using a .177 calibre target air rifle weighing no more than 5.5kg. The event is shot in the standing position over a distance of 10 metres usually on an indoor range. In international competition, there are separate events for men and women. Air Rifle is an inexpensive way of getting into shooting, and it is an especially appropriate way to introduce juniors to shooting. There is a 3 Position competition as well with these air rifles.
